The Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Dominic Raab, made a statement to the House of Commons on Iran.
Dominic Raab told MPs,
“Iran faces a choice: it can double down on its approach in which case the international opposition to its behaviour will only intensify, or it can take immediate steps to de-escalate tensions and rebuild international confidence.”
Responding on behalf of the Opposition, Shadow Minister Emily Thornberry said,
“Will [the Foreign Secretary] guarantee, before any decision to join Donald Trump in military action against Iran and put British service people in harm’s way, that this House will be asked to approve that action and give the chance to save our country from the disaster that would be war with Iran?”
