A special meeting of the Council of Ministers on September 27, 2019 at the latest

The Council of Ministers met at the Palace of Government in Dili, and approved by the Decree of the Government, to be presented by the Minister of Oil and Minerals-in-charge, Agio Pereira, the National Authority of Oil and Minerals in Timor-Leste (ANPM), which regulates the procedure for the allocation of areas in the territory of Timor-Leste and the activities of the exploration and production of oil.

Still, it was a continuation of the examination of the Government Resolution on the authorisation for the opening up of public procurement for the conclusion of contracts in the oil, with a view to carrying out the activities of exploration and production of oil, in accordance with the Law on Petroleum Activities, and the Regulation of Public Procurement contracts in Oil.

The Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, in exercise, Fidelis Leite Magalhães, gave a presentation to the Council of Ministers on the disorder that has resulted in the deaths of hundreds of pigs in the country. They were made of samples from these animals and sent for analysis to a laboratory in Australia, which confirmed that the animals suffered from the african swine fever. This is a disease that is highly contagious between animals, it is not having an effect on humans and it has affected many countries in the asian region. The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, in collaboration with the Government of Australia has undertaken all necessary measures in order to limit the impact of this outbreak, for which there is a remedy, a cure, or a vaccine.
