The visit of Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu to New York for the 74th session of the UN General Assembly continues.
On 25 September 2019, Minister Çavuşoğlu participated in the South-East European Cooperation Process Informal Meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs.
Minister Çavuşoğlu stated that Turkey attached importance to regional cooperation and solidarity principles in Balkans and that the South-East European Cooperation Process strengthened cooperation between all the countries in the region.
On the same day Minister Çavuşoğlu participated in the 10th session of the Global Counter-Terrorism Forum.
As a country attacked by multiple terrorist organizations, Minister Çavuşoğlu emphasized that the international community should not make distinctions between terrorist organizations.
Later that day, Minister Çavuşoğlu attended the meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Contact Group on Jammu-Kashmir.
Minister Çavuşoğlu emphasized that as OIC members, we would not remain silent against the suffering of Kashmiri people and that we would continue to be in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Kashmir during these tough times.
Minister Çavuşoğlu also met with Foreign Minister John M. Silk of Marshall Islands, Foreign Minister Joseph Malanji of Zambia and Foreign Minister Khemais Jhinaoui of Tunisia.
At the meetings the Ministers exchanged views on cooperation opportunities.
Finally, Minister Çavuşoğlu attended the meeting of the OIC Committee on Palestine.
As stated by President Erdogan, Minister Çavuşoğlu stressed that the international community should stand against the expansionist policies of Israel that recklessly violates the relevant UN resolutions and international law.
