In the planned teaching take the first stage involved more than 10 crews of shock and military-transport helicopters Mi-24 and Mi-8, as well as shipborne helicopters Ka-27M and Ka-29 naval aviation of the Baltic fleet. In the second stage the number of crews was increased to 20.

In the course of performing training flights played out tactical episodes on development tasks – to ensure fire ground units to destroy command posts, armored vehicles and manpower of the imaginary enemy, to conduct aerial reconnaissance and destruction of air targets, finding and destroying surface ships and submarines of the imaginary enemy at the marine ranges of the Baltic fleet. Combat exercises are performed as a single, as composed of pairs of links.

The teachings involved the entire flight and engineering staff of the helicopter regiment of the fleet, as well as specialists logistics and communications. The main aim of Finland is to improve flight crew training and skills of combat use of aviation, as well as improving the professional skills of pilots.

In the framework of the TUL crews searching for submarines using drop hydroacoustic stations, launches of guided and unguided aviation rockets of various classes, the firing of cannon armament of helicopters, dropping torpedoes and bombs weighing from 100 to 500 kg, work out the elements of maneuvering during air combat, as well as approach goals in terms of the use of conditional “enemy” jamming devices.

All combat training tasks pilots of naval aviation perform in the daytime and at night. Planned about 50 missions in training and combat application.
