The personnel of the separate naval fighter aviation regiment of the Northern fleet carried out the relocation on the MiG-29K to the Republic of Crimea for testing equipment off and landing aircraft with ground test training complex THREADS.

The fighter pilots made a flight from Murmansk region in the Republic of Crimea with a total length of over 2,500 kilometers.

In the near future crews will have to pass a test on theoretical training and proceed directly to the flight training complex.

The training program involves testing of a complete cycle of training pilots to land on an aircraft carrier. Training fighter pilots on the simulator will take about a month.

Ground test aircraft training complex (NITKA) is a special ground-based training facility imitating the deck of an aircraft carrier – designed for testing equipment off and landing aircraft carrier. The complex is a special steel runway in the form of a ship deck equipped with a diving Board and arresting gear. The dimensions of the strip equivalent to the dimensions of the flight deck of a heavy aviabearing cruiser “Admiral Kuznetsov”.
