SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA – This week, Governor Pete Ricketts and First Lady Susanne Shore visited the U.S.S. Omaha at the Port of San Diego in California.  The U.S.S. Omaha is one of the newest vessels in the U.S. Navy’s fleet, and Governor Ricketts attended a commissioning ceremony for the vessel last year.  This is the fourth ship in U.S. Navy history to bear the name Omaha.

“Nebraska is very proud of this ship which bears the name of our largest city,” said Governor Ricketts.  “The State of Nebraska is honored to have you represent us as you defend our freedoms and Republic on the seas.  Thank you to all of the great servicemen and women who serve our great nation on this ship!”
