The first Beijing International Public Service Advertisement Conference will be held from Nov. 11-13 at the China National Convention Center, the city announced at a press conference on Wednesday.
The theme of the conference is “Hands on Public Service Advertisement, Building a Better World Together.” It is jointly organized by the publicity department of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and the Beijing Municipal Radio and Television Bureau, with the goal of becoming the new calling card of the capital’s cultural events and a weathervane for the industry of public service advertisements.
The event will feature four sessions: a contest to solicit creation and ideas for public service ads, a video show for outstanding ads, a series of thematic seminars and workshops, and a ceremony. There will also be special promotional activities.
The contest, unveiled on July 15, has drawn participation from 50 universities and colleges, as well as more than 100 professional studios in more than 20 provinces and cities. The contest has received 2,338 entries, and has come out with 100 winning pieces in four categories of the first prize, the second prize, the third prize, and the excellence award. Two winning ideas will be produced into videos. An awarding ceremony of the contest will include an announcement of the top 100 most creative ideas.
