The Annual Research Conference (ARC) brings together an audience of about 100 invited participants from research and policy-making circles. This year’s conference will be devoted to the overall theme of “Economic challenges of the 2020s” and will be opened by Commissioner-designate Paolo Gentiloni.
The Distinguished ECFIN lecture will this year be delivered by Paul Collier of the University of Oxford, who will speak on the topic “The Future of Capitalism”. The ARC will also feature sessions on the themes of “market structures and income distribution” and “future-proofing fiscal policies”, as well as a high level panel on “Europe’s role in a changing economy”. Key speakers include Marco Buti, Director General of DG ECFIN, Thomas Philippon of the University of New York, Olivier Blanchard of the PIEE, Laurence Boone of the OECD and Philip Lane of the ECB.
