WEST PORTSMOUTH, Ohio – The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) will host an open house to share concepts regarding the redevelopment of the 180-acre golf course at Shawnee State Park. The open house will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 6-8 p.m. at Shawnee State Park Lodge, located at 4404 State Route 125, West Portsmouth, OH 45663.
The public is invited to view conceptual designs for transforming the acreage into public land that will offer a variety of activities to attract a wider range of users. In addition to displays, ODNR staff will be on hand to discuss redevelopment options.
“I’m excited to share our plans for offering more opportunities for recreation that will not only benefit Scioto County but all of Ohio,” said ODNR Director Mary Mertz. “We want to develop a facility that will increase tourism, enhance the economy, and enable more visitors to enjoy this beautiful area.”
