Public asked to share moustache photos to help spread men’s health message on social media
SEATTLE – One of Washington’s largest ferries will be a bit more dapper during the month of November as it dons a large moustache decal to raise awareness about men’s health.
For the third year in a row, Washington State Ferries is partnering with Movember, a global nonprofit that supports research and awareness for men’s health issues such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. This year, the ferry Tacoma will display a Movember moustache decal while sailing on the busy Seattle/Bainbridge route.
“Movember is thrilled to once again partner with the Washington State Ferries to help change the face of men’s health,” said Mark Hedstrom, US executive director at Movember. “Sign up now at Movember.com to get involved in various ways. You can grow a moustache, move and commit to walking or running, host an event or donate. Your support will continue to help men live longer, healthier and happier lives.”
WSF is happy to once again help share awareness about men’s health issues. The Movember moustache will be seen by thousands of people as they travel through WSF’s terminals in Seattle and Bainbridge. Ferry riders can help spread the message even further by posting photos of their moustaches taken either on or off the ferries. Photos can be posted on Twitter tagging @wsferries and using the hashtag #Movember or to the new WSF Facebook page.
