In St. Petersburg from 7 to 9 November the international conference “Seventh Volkonsky reading”, which will be attended by members of the armies of the 37 countries.

Delegates will discuss the impact of medical-geographical factors on the organization of rendering of medical aid and share experience of providing medical aid to soldiers in times of war and peace in various countries. The conference will begin with a ceremony of leave-taking the military and civilian honors to the chief and the Chief of staff of the Russian Imperial army General field Marshal Pyotr Volkonsky at the monument-obelisk in the place of Vvedensky temple – the Church of the Semenov regiment, chief of which was field Marshal. Then, in honor of the opening of the “Seventh Volkonsky readings”, will be made midday shot from the cannon of the fortress.

The organizer of the conference was Informational, historical and scientific Center – the Military historical library of the General staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. Readings will take place on the grounds of the State Hermitage Museum, Military medical Academy named after S. M. Kirov and the Constantine Palace.
