Minister for Agricultural Industry Development and Fisheries Mark Furner said hand-made baskets were presented at high-level meetings with investors and government officials.

“I came across these baskets went I visited Thargomindah earlier this year,” he said.

“They’re made by local artist Jackie Dare and I thought what a wonderful way to show our trading partners here in Indonesia and Singapore some of the wonderful handiwork being created in regional Queensland.

“2019 is the Year of Outback Tourism and I hope these gifts entice some of the people I meet to think about making a trip to Queensland and visiting places like Thargomindah, Quilpie and Charleville.

“Not only does Queensland have spectacular beaches and the Great Barrier Reef but some of the landscapes in the southwest are well worth a trip.”

Mr Furner will also be showcasing Queensland produce like carbon neutral beef and pork during his trip this week.
