Today at the Piskarevsky memorial cemetery in St. Petersburg the servicemen of honor guard company of the Western military district (ZVO) conducted a ritual to transfer the casings from the ground of the memorial to lay in the base of the monument “Candle of memory”, which will be erected in Jerusalem (Israel).

Honor guard, armed with a 7.62 mm self-loading carbine Simonov, took part in the ceremony along with a veteran of the great Patriotic war Vasily Usexim and residents of the city.

This ceremony will give rise to the days of St. Petersburg in Israel, which will be held until November 15. In those days the laying of the first stone and a capsule with earth from Piskaryovskoye memorial in the grounds of the monument “Candle of memory”.
