Russia’s Evgenii Vitmanovskii and China’s Li Na won the men’s and women’s categories respectively in stage 5 of the 2019 Colourful Yunnan International Granfondo Cycling Festival in Dali, Yunnan province on Friday.

The fifth stage is a flat road race of 120 kilometers around Erhai Lake, which is one of the most famous fresh water lakes in China. The highlights along the course include the Butterfly Spring and Three Pagodas of Chongsheng Temple.

Evgenii Vitmanovskii completed the race in two hours 49 minutes and 36 seconds, and Li Na finished in 3:03:13. They both claimed the yellow jerseys for the first time at the event.

“Today was amazing, I followed the first group at first, then my teammates did a perfect cooperation to support me. I am a good flat road cyclist, so I had a strong final sprint,” Li Na said.

Yunnan Granfondo has been held every year since 2014. This year’s competition covers 650 kilometers, including six stages. The Lijiang stage will be the last one on Saturday. More than 1,000 cyclists from 36 countries and regions are taking part in this year’s event.
