President Ashraf Ghani in a meeting with provincial governors of the eastern zone elaborated on economic and development potentials that can lead to balanced development in their provinces, yesterday evening at the Presidential Palace.

President Ghani said precise studies should be conducted in each province to single out its potentials in terms of natural resources, development, exportable agricultural products, sources of revenue and human capacities, with further focus on water management, forest conservation, mining, and revenue-generating projects.

The president described agricultural productivity, horticulture management and improved value chain as factors that can enhance people’s living standard.

He asked the governors to lay out the priorities of their provinces to be incorporated in the next year national budget in order to ensure efficiency and productivity.
