The official launch of the Delivering Great Policy initiative, hosted by PM&C’s Delivering Great Policy team and the Institute of Public Administration Australia (IPAA), was held at Old Parliament House on the 8th of November.
The sold out event which asked ‘How do we take policy advice from good to great?’ showcased the Delivering Great Policy approach which defines the four core elements required for delivering great policy advice:
Great policy advice should also be underpinned by the right foundations for readiness: culture, mindsets, skills and the right tools and processes.
The over 200 attendees from academia, the private sector and the APS were encouraged to provide feedback to help test and refine the approach.
Secretaries from across the APS were also on hand to share their insights around developing great policy advice and the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science promoted the APS Framework for Engagement and Participation in their special guest exhibit and masterclass.
