Today, the Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, met with Pedro Sánchez, Prime Minister of Spain following the NATO Leaders Meeting.
Prime Minister Trudeau and Prime Minister Sánchez exchanged congratulations on the recent Canadian and Spanish elections.
The Prime Ministers agreed on the pivotal role of NATO in trans-Atlantic security and defence over the past 70 years. They spoke about the positive collaboration between Canada and Spain in NATO.
Prime Minister Trudeau commended Spain’s hosting of COP25. The two leaders agreed to work together to raise international ambition on climate action and encourage clean growth.
Prime Minister Trudeau and Prime Minister Sánchez exchanged views on other international issues, such as the situation in Venezuela.
