Jeremy Corbyn and the Labour Party have run the most successful election social media campaign the country has ever seen.
Jeremy Corbyn’s digital strategy centres around making viral persuasive content – bypassing the media and breaking out of the bubble.
Analysis shows that:
- On Facebook Jeremy Corbyn and Labour achieved 86.2 million views on campaign videos, compared with only 24.5 million views for Boris Johnson and the Conservatives.
And the three most successful videos from politicians or political pages of the campaign so far were all released by Labour:
- Rob Delaney on the NHS. Total: 13.3m. Twitter: 6.5m. Facebook: 6.8m.
- Jeremy Corbyn 60 second challenge. Total: 6.9m. Twitter: 2.8m. Facebook: 4.1m.
- Scapegoating politician. Total: 6.5m. Twitter: 4.6m. Facebook: 1.9m.
