JACKSON COUNTY –MoDOT Kansas City will be doing pavement work along southbound I-435 beginning Thursday, Dec. 12. This work was originally scheduled to begin on Friday, Dec. 13. All work is weather permitting.

  • Southbound I-435 will be reduced to ONE LANE between U.S. 40 Highway and Stadium Dr. beginning at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12, until approximately 5 a.m. the following morning. All lanes will be re-opened through Friday morning rush hour.
  • After morning rush hour and beginning at  9 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 13, until approximately 5 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 16, crews will again reduce southbound I-435 to ONE LANE between U.S. 40 Highway and Stadium Dr. This work may have impacts to traffic and those attending the Kansas City Chiefs game at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday, Dec. 15.  Motorists and fans are encouraged to use the suggested game day detours. All work is weather permitting.

This is all part of the I-435 and I-70 construction project and it will have significant impacts on traffic for two full construction seasons.
