Northern Territory Police are calling for witnesses in relation to an alleged robbery which occurred at Northlake’s Shopping Centre around 12:30pm today.

Police believe an 18-year-old male approached an 82-year-old female and attempted to take her bag. As a result, a struggle ensued and the victim was pushed to the ground. The alleged offender was held by a member of the public until police arrived and made an arrest. He was conveyed to Darwin Watch House and is expected to be charged later today.

Detective Acting Sergeant Lukas David said, “Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. Please quote reference number 9189217”.
