Crews Will CLOSE Eastbound I-70 Ramp to Blue Ridge Cutoff Jan. 27
JACKSON COUNTY – MoDOT Kansas City is continuing construction at the I-435 and I-70 interchange. This work will involve various lane closures as well as significant ramp closures in the area. These closures will have an impact on traffic. Motorists are advised to plan ahead, leave early, or to find an alternate route if necessary. All work is weather permitting.
Wednesday, Jan. 15
- One lane of the ramp from westbound I-70 to northbound I-435 will be CLOSED for lighting construction beginning at 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 15
Thursday, Jan. 16
- The ramp from eastbound I-70 to southbound I-435 will be CLOSED for sign truss installation beginning at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 16, until midnight.
- The ramp from southbound I-435 to westbound I-70 will be CLOSED for sign truss installation beginning at 10 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 16, until 2 a.m. the following morning.
Monday, Jan. 27
- The ramp from eastbound I-70 to Blue Ridge Cutoff will be CLOSED for pavement construction beginning on Monday, Jan. 27 until approximately summer 2020. This ramp closure will have impacts to fans headed to Kauffman Stadium this season. Motorists needing to go this direction are advised to exit eastbound I-70 at U.S. 40 Highway and continue east until intersecting with Blue Ridge Cutoff.
This is all part of the I-435 and I-70 construction project and it will have significant impacts on traffic for two full construction seasons.
