The European Directive on public procurement provided for the introduction of specific accessibility criteria in Member States’ tenders.

There has been no information from the Commission on the enforcement of the Directive demonstrating that public procurement contracts for digital inclusion projects meet the accessibility criteria.

The Commission’s website which collects updates and reports from Member States on the implementation of the Directive has not been updated since 2018 and existing reports make no reference to accessibility criteria.

In view of the above, will the Commission say:

How does it assess the effects of the Directive as regards accessibility criteria in public procurement tenders for digital inclusion?

What steps does it plan to take in the future to implement the Directive effectively?
