On 30 April, the Day of fire protection, on the basis of the MIA “Russia today” online held a press-conference of the Deputy Minister of EMERCOM of Russia Ilya Denisov.

According to I. Denisova, about 70% of the personnel of fire and rescue garrisons – professionals at the age from 31 to 50 years, with extensive practical experience and a huge wealth of professional knowledge. Share of young specialists up to 30 years – more than 20%.
Today in the fire service successfully applied the latest technology of fire fighting. For example, currently in the units is adopted fire-rescue vehicles with the installation of hydroabrasive cutting “Cobra”. They are indispensable when fighting fires in old buildings, attics with wooden overlappings and partitions of premises with a closed volume to which access is restricted.

During the press conference addressed the theme of fire in a pandemic. Denisov said that EMERCOM of Russia has taken exhaustive measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection among employees. In addition to the mandatory use of personnel protective equipment and compliance with recommended measures of behavior, in several regions introduced a system of personal diaries, in which employees of the territorial bodies shall keep daily records of their health status and contacts. So, in the diaries marked data of thermometry, specify details about who the employee had contact during the performance of their duties during the day.
Keeping such journals is not a mandatory requirement for execution, but at the same time, can accelerate the process of identifying the near and far range of contacts that infected employee.
“We have not had cases of withdrawal from the combat calculation units by reason of infection by the coronavirus,” – said Denisov.
The Deputy Minister also added that the changing of the guard in the office during a pandemic are non-contact.
I. Denisov on the eve of may holidays recalls the prohibition of campfires in windy weather. The barbecue also requires compliance with security measures: for this approach to specially equipped places, far remote from any buildings and the required fire extinguishing means, for example, containers with water.

At the end of the press conference Denisov congratulated the colleagues on the holiday and thanked staff for the diligent work and professionalism. Special words of appreciation he addressed to the veterans for their dedication and help in educating young specialists.
