On 17 June 2020, agreements were signed between the CEC of Russia, the Public chamber of the Russian Federation, and the Commissioner for human rights in the Russian Federation on cooperation in the preparation and conduct of the all-Russian vote on approval of changes to the Constitution of the Russian Federation.

The head of the CEC of Russia thanked the Public chamber for the work done to train observers. These procedures will help ensure public control over all forms of voting – at polling stations, at home, and remotely.

Ella Pamfilova also noted that the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation has an effective experience of interacting with the office of the Commissioner for human rights in the Russian Federation in election campaigns at various levels.

During the signing ceremony, the head of the CEC of Russia noted that due to broad public monitoring and the consolidated work of civil society institutions, a high level of control over voting procedures, respect for citizens’ rights, and assistance to election commissions in the exercise of their powers will be provided.

“This work will allow us to get a clear result of the will of citizens,” the head of the Commission emphasized.
