Servicemen of the 2nd and 41st combined arms armies of the Central Military District coped with their tasks during this year’s largest bilateral exercises, which ended in four regions of Siberia and the Volga region.
“More detailed results will be summed up later, but today I can say that both armies have coped with all the assigned tasks, are in constant combat readiness, regularly build up and improve their potential and are able to perform guaranteed tasks in any conditions of the security situation of the Russian Federation in their areas of responsibility, ”said the commander of the military district Colonel-General Alexander Lapin, summing up the results of the exercises.
The commander added that each of the combined-arms armies had completed over 400 different combat training missions. Based on the results of their implementation, the district headquarters gave an assessment to commanders of all levels.
“A feature of the exercises was the development of the issues of using the created groupings of forces in opening and repelling a global strike of a simulated enemy, as well as countering the creation of an integrated defense system with the inclusion of forces and means of electronic warfare, reconnaissance, air defense and long-range fire damage,” Colonel Lapin.
This year’s largest bilateral exercise of the 41st combined-arms and 2nd Guards combined-arms armies of the Central Military District (CVD) with the participation of more than 12 thousand servicemen and 3 thousand units of military equipment was held from 10 to 14 August at four training grounds in Siberia and the Volga region.
Motorized rifle and tank subunits, groupings of missile forces and artillery, air defense, operational-tactical and army aviation, radiation, chemical and biological protection, electronic warfare, logistics, as well as calculations of unmanned aerial vehicle complexes were involved in the development of joint practical actions. “Outpost”, “Orlan-10” and “Eleron”.
