More than 20 thousand servicemen of the Southern Military District (YuVO) have been vaccinated with the second component of the coronavirus vaccine. Immunization of servicemen took place on the basis of military medical institutions in the Rostov, Volgograd and Astrakhan regions, Crimea, the republics of the North Caucasus, as well as at Russian military bases in Armenia, Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

First of all, military medical workers involved in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with COVID-19, military personnel on alert, command personnel, flight personnel and duty forces of formations and military units received the vaccination.

Vaccination is carried out on a voluntary basis and only after the vaccinee has signed a consent to the introduction of the components of the drug. Before the introduction of the vaccine, the specialists of the medical service conduct information about the effect of the drug “Gam-COVID-Vac” (“Sputnik V”) on the human body.

Vaccination in YuVO will continue as the vaccine becomes available. In the near future, another large batch of GAM-Covid-Vak is expected in the amount of more than 18 thousand doses.
