From a minute of silence in memory of the deceased Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy (from 2007 to 2012), Admiral Vladimir Vysotsky, a service meeting of the command staff of the Northern Fleet began today under the leadership of Fleet Commander Admiral Alexander Moiseyev.

Prior to his appointment as Commander-in-Chief of the Navy, Admiral Vladimir Vysotsky commanded the Northern Fleet from 2005 to 2007, and previously was chief of staff and commander of the Red Banner Kola Flotilla of Diverse Forces.

The North Sea warriors remembered him as a far-sighted military leader and a decent officer.

At present, the military dynasty in the Northern Fleet is continued by the son of Vladimir Sergeevich. He serves as a senior assistant to the commander of the flagship of the fleet – the heavy nuclear missile cruiser Peter the Great.
