Vitaly Fomchenko, head of the Department of the Federal Penitentiary Service for the Jewish Autonomous Region, presented departmental awards of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia to the region’s rescuers.

Roman Boyko, head of the Russian Emergencies Ministry’s Main Directorate for the Jewish Autonomous Region, was awarded the silver medal “For Contribution to the Development of the Russian Penitentiary System” for his services in assisting in the performance of tasks assigned to the penitentiary system of the Russian Federation. Ivan Kopysov, head of the department for supervising activities and preventive work of the “emergency” department, was awarded a certificate of honor of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia.

Vitaly Fomchenko expressed gratitude to the rescuers for the organized work, increasing the level of literacy among employees in the field of fire safety, and noted that thanks to joint efforts, the conduct of interagency events in the past year, no fires or flares were allowed at the facilities of the penal system.

At the end of the solemn event, the interacting structures expressed hope for further fruitful cooperation in protecting the population and territories from fires and emergencies, ensuring the safety of employees and convicted citizens serving sentences in correctional institutions of the Jewish Autonomous Region.
