Special tactical exercises were held with specialists from the topographic and geodetic support units of the Eastern Military District (VVO) stationed in the Trans-Baikal and Khabarovsk Territories. Military surveyors and cartographers improved their skills on their professional holiday – it is celebrated on February 8.

During the lesson, surveyor officers organized control over the state of the navigation situation and performed tasks to provide automated command and control systems (ACCS) and geospatial information control points.

Also, during the training, military topographers improved their skills in determining coordinates and heights along the route and deployment of troops. For this, modern mobile navigation systems were used.

To generalize and display the information received, military topographers used maps and volumetric 3D models – they made it possible to visualize the terrain.

The latest special equipment was involved in the event, in particular the mobile digital topographic system PCTS “Volynets”.
