The district stage of the Media-As-2021 Festival has started on the territory of four military districts and the Northern Fleet. The reception of creative works from journalists, bloggers, photographers and videographers on topics related to the activities of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation is carried out by the press services of the districts and the fleet by e-mail until the end of June.
The festival is attended by authors and groups that published materials from January 1 to December 31, 2020.
The winners of the district stage will be awarded in August 2021. The best works will be sent to Moscow to participate in the All-Russian stage of the press festival.

The All-Russian Press Festival is held by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation to encourage military experts, representatives of the media, the public and bloggers who cover military topics and make a significant contribution to maintaining a positive image of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

The All-Russian Press Festival “Media-AS” was first held in 2015 at the initiative of the Russian Defense Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu. Every year, representatives of the media from all over the country gather in the Atrium of the National Center for Defense Management of the Russian Federation in order to receive a prize for their contribution to coverage of military and defense topics.
Several thousand Russian journalists have taken part in the festival for six years. In 2020 alone, more than 1000 journalistic works from all over the country were submitted to the competition.
Traditionally, the best military journalists are awarded by the leadership of the military department, the chief editors of central television channels, print media and news agencies, politicians, famous athletes and public figures.
