Specialists of the International Mine Action Center of the Ministry of Defense of Russia continue work on demining the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh in the area of ​​the settlement. Martuni.

In the course of demining and clearing the outskirts of settlements, Russian peacekeepers use modern robotic systems “Uran-6”, which allow ensuring the safety of servicemen when performing explosive work and maintaining a high rate of cleaning the area in all weather conditions.

Since November 23, 2020, during the operation, engineering units of the Russian peacekeeping forces have cleared 1191.3 hectares of unexploded ordnance, more than 350 km of roads, 1170 housing buildings, including 29 socially significant objects, about 24.2 thousand explosive objects.

Discovered explosive objects and unexploded ammunition are removed and destroyed at a specially equipped landfill. Ammunition that cannot be evacuated is destroyed on site with all the necessary safety measures in place for blasting operations.

In accordance with the agreements specified in the joint statement of the President of the Russian Federation, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, from 00:00 Moscow time on November 10, 2020, a complete ceasefire and all hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh were announced.

With the assistance of Russian peacekeepers in the areas affected by the war, the restoration of vital engineering communications continues.
