In 2020, specialists of the psychological service of the Russian Emergencies Ministry were involved in the provision of emergency psychological assistance about 1.5 thousand times.
The Emergency Situations Ministry’s Hot Line phones were opened 10 times during emergencies in Russia. At the same time, they received about 600 calls.
Also in 2020, psychologists were involved in providing emergency psychological assistance as part of two international humanitarian operations: on the territory of the Lebanese Republic, associated with the explosion in the port of Beirut, and also a group of psychologists continues to work on the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh as part of the Interdepartmental Center for Humanitarian Response.
Last year, a lot of work was carried out to provide psychological support to the population in connection with the unfavorable epidemiological situation in the territory of the Russian Federation.
“Psychologists conducted psychological training sessions for more than 93 thousand employees, psychological diagnostics were carried out on 94 480 personnel, 54 250 people were involved in psychological prevention and correction,” said Yulia Shoigu, director of the Emergency Psychological Aid Center of the Russian Emergencies Ministry.
Within the framework of medical and psychological rehabilitation, 61,130 events were held with the personnel of the Russian Emergencies Ministry and over 17,000 events with family members of employees.
Over the past year, as part of promoting a culture of safe behavior, volunteers, together with specialists from the psychological service, held about 700 training events, in which more than 11 thousand people took part.
The Emergency Psychological Aid Center of the EMERCOM of Russia continues to develop student psychological volunteer movement, and also implements the “Learn to Save Life!” Project aimed at promoting knowledge of first aid and psychological support. Within the framework of the project, more than 200 events were held to educate the population during the year, about 10 thousand people were covered.
For the current year, the tasks and main goals of the psychological service of the EMERCOM of Russia remain unchanged – this is the provision of emergency psychological assistance to victims in emergency situations, work with personnel, interdepartmental interaction and the promotion of safety culture.
