Screenings and meetings will be held in the Molodezhny and Tula cinemas of the Moschino network.

Cinema network “Moschino” opens the Dialogue cinema club. The new project is aimed at reviving the tradition of cinema clubs in an up-to-date format. Every week in the cinemas “Molodezhny” and “Tula” there will be screenings of modern Russian author films and Soviet classics. The program is designed for the widest audience. Viewers will be able to see arthouse and mainstream, documentary and animation, short films and experimental films. And there will also be an opportunity to take part in the discussion of paintings with their creators.

“The Society of Friends of Soviet Cinematography (later the Society of Film Clubs) was founded in 1925. This movement acquired a truly all-Union scale in the 1960-1970s, when the most famous filmmakers Andrei Tarkovsky, Sergei Parajanov, Tengiz Abuladze, Andrei Konchalovsky, Alexei German, Kira Muratova, Nikita Mikhalkov actively participated in discussions of their films. Cinema clubs were very popular and carried a serious educational mission. Today, in an era of new digital and audiovisual opportunities, we are seeing a resurgence of interest in movie clubs. “Moschino” supports this trend and opens its own cinema club “Dialogue”, the audience of which is expected to meet only with the new national cinema and the brightest filmmakers ”, – said Natalya Mokritskaya, general director of“ Moschino ”.

The first event will take place on February 16. The Molodezhny cinema will show the film The Man from Podolsk, directed by Semyon Serzin, based on the play by Dmitry Danilov. The film will be presented by the performers of the main roles – Honored Artist of Russia Vladimir Meisinger, actor Yevgeny Sangadzhiev and lead singer of the OQJAV group Vadik Korolev.

The next meeting of the “Dialogue” club will take place in a week, on February 23rd. Everyone is welcome at the Tula cinema for the pre-premiere screening of the military film Red Ghost with the participation of director Andrei Bogatyrev and producer Tatyana Voronetskaya. The film will be released in wide Russian distribution in May 2021.

The idea of creating the club belongs to the general director of “Moschino” Natalia Mokritskaya and film critic Maria Bezruk. Maria created her own cinema club more than three years ago and held many film screenings with the participation of Gosha Kutsenko, Vladimir Mirzoev, Igor Gordin, Yuri Bykov and other famous filmmakers.

“We are opening new names of young talented directors to the public and giving the viewer the opportunity to get acquainted with various directions in contemporary Russian cinema. We are convinced that the wonderful comfortable halls of the Tula and Molodezhny cinemas will become the best venues for our meetings, and we hope that very soon our cinema club will find new viewers, ”said Maria Bezruk, curator of the Dialogue cinema club.

For students, admission to the cinema club screenings will be free of charge upon prior registration and presentation of a student ID. Details can be found at website network of cinemas “Moschino”.

“Moschino” annually holds hundreds of retrospectives, auteur cinema festivals, film clubs, premieres and meetings with directors. He pays special attention to film screenings. “Moschino” is the curator and organizer of the citywide festival “Cinema Night”.
