Snipers of formations and military units of the army corps of the Eastern Military District on Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands began performing the “cold shot” exercise.

The servicemen shoot at a distance of 100 meters without zeroing from an unprepared rifle at a target the size of a tennis ball, and also shoot at 500 meters at a chest target for the maximum number of hits.

During the exercise, special attention is paid to the issues of reconnaissance of targets and determining the range to them, conducting aimed fire from sniper rifles at distances from 500 to 1300 meters in difficult weather conditions, both day and night.

During a 3-kilometer march, snipers will demonstrate their orienteering skills. At the final point of the route, they will have to show their ability to hit targets at maximum range.

In addition, special attention is paid to the implementation of tactical actions and fire missions as part of sniper pairs and groups, as well as camouflaging positions for shooting using improvised means.
