With the help of portable ventilators, it is possible to quickly provide respiratory support even to critically low birth weight children.

For Ambulance and emergency medical stations named after A.S. Puchkovapurchased new portable ventilators. This was announced by Sergei Sobyanin on his Twitter page.

Total Moscow City Health Departmentpurchased 70 expert class devices. They help provide respiratory support to critically ill patients and even critically low birth weight babies, including premature babies.

“Modern mechanical ventilation devices, which the station is already equipped with, improve the quality of emergency medical care not only for patients with a new coronavirus infection, but also for all other patients in need of emergency respiratory support. For example, victims with severe traumatic brain injury, with severe strokes, complicated by the development of a coma. However, the capabilities of our new breathing equipment – portable ventilators – allow a much larger number of teams to effectively carry out artificial ventilation of the lungs even for children with critically low body weight, ”said the chief physician of the A.S. New ventilators make it possible to carry out not only traditional (invasive) artificial, but also auxiliary (mask) ventilation of the lungs. At the same time, gentle modes of operation for patients are used. Such equipment has already shown its effectiveness in the treatment of severe bilateral pneumonia associated with COVID-19.

“The Moscow ambulance has always had ventilators, but the functionality of the new portable devices exceeds our previous capabilities several times,” added Pyotr Davydov, deputy chief physician of the A.S. Ambulance Station. Puchkov.
