Employees of correctional colony No. 9 visited the shelter of the Let’s Help Together 39 charity foundation, where volunteers take care of the Central Asian and Caucasian Shepherd Dogs. They brought food, medicine and cleaning supplies for the animals, including household chemicals.

– Dogs of these breeds are very serious, it is not so easy for them to find a new home. People are mostly afraid of them. Although fears are often caused by prejudices and problems arise, unfortunately, due to the irresponsible attitude of the owners, – explained Daria Mukhina, senior instructor of the canine group at IK-9. And she added that, despite their strength and desire to dominate, such dogs are primarily the owners of a calm disposition. And they are ready to faithfully serve their master.

As noted in the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Kaliningrad region, employees on a regular basis help several shelters: Timville, Druzhok, the Slavyanskoe center for the rehabilitation of homeless animals, etc. Penitentiary officers not only bring the necessary equipment and food, but also help pet care and walking. Volunteers from the UIS explained that such support is equivalent to material support and is very welcome in shelters.

– All these organizations are supported by donations from the volunteers themselves and caring citizens. And we are glad to join this good initiative, – added to IK-9.
