The Central Military District (CVD) hosted the first stage of the International Army Games-2021 “Master Gunsmith” competition. For the first time in seven years of this stage of the competition in the territory of the military district, more than 4 thousand military personnel took part in it.

Competitions were held in military units and military educational institutions deployed in more than 10 regions of the Urals, the Volga region and Siberia. 258 teams of 4089 people applied for participation.

The competition was held in five stages. The teams identified the best in the repair and towing of the 122-mm D-30A howitzer, the 23-mm ZU-23 anti-aircraft gun, the 122-mm Grad multiple launch rocket system, as well as in the arms biathlon (relay race) for the repair of small arms.

As a result of the competition, 24 teams advanced to the next stage. The second stage of the competition will take place at the end of February at six training grounds in the Central Military District.
