The Study Day at the Museum project is now available in the library “Moscow Electronic School” (“MESH”). Teachers and students, as well as their parents, can get acquainted with the virtual expositions of city museums.
So far, remote lessons are available on the platform in three cultural institutions – the Tsaritsyno Museum-Reserve, the Museum of Cosmonautics and the Vladimir Vysotsky State Museum. Now the MES library has published 31 lessons in 13 subjects. In the future, other metropolitan museums are planning to join the educational platform.
“The MES platform is in great demand among teachers, schoolchildren and their parents. That is why it is very important to develop it and increase the amount of high-quality educational material. The participation of cultural institutions in the preparation of electronic manuals is another step towards the natural integration of education and culture. In addition, it allows you to create fascinating and very informative materials for the capital’s schoolchildren, ”said the director of the City Methodological Center of the capital
Department of Education and ScienceAndrey Zinin.
Now, on the MES platform, two electronic teaching aids of the project have been uploaded – “A Study Day at the Museum” and “A Study Day at the Vladimir Vysotsky State Museum”. In order to use them, you need to type the titles of the manuals in the library search bar “Moscow Electronic School”… Access to materials is free.
The manual “A Study Day at the Museum” introduces the expositions of the Tsaritsyno Museum-Reserve and the Museum of Cosmonautics. Here you can find scripts for lessons for the fifth, sixth, seventh and ninth grades in various subjects – algebra, geometry, computer science, physics, Russian and English, as well as literature, history, geography, biology and even physical education. There are 27 online lessons in total. For example, in a geometry lesson, students will look for geometric shapes in the architectural design of the palace complex located on the territory of the Tsaritsyno Museum-Reserve, and in a virtual physical education lesson in the Museum of Cosmonautics they will learn what exercises cosmonauts perform on the space station to keep fit. as well as how and what they eat.
Lessons in the electronic textbook “A Study Day at the State Museum of Vladimir Vysotsky” are intended for high school students. In virtual classes, children can study literature, English, history and algebra, getting acquainted with the life and work of the famous poet. In a history lesson, schoolchildren will study in detail the period from the mid-1960s to the early 1980s, they will learn more about the Soviet culture of those years, everyday life, and answer the question of why Vladimir Vysotsky became the idol of millions. And in a lesson on literature, students will get acquainted with the songs and poems of Vysotsky. There are four online tutorials designed for this e-tutorial.
Virtual lessons were developed by school teachers, museum staff and methodologists of the City Methodological Center. Among the teaching materials are articles, interactive assignments, and classroom scenarios for teachers. In addition, the manuals contain photographs of museum exhibits, as well as video tours of the halls.
“The project“ A Study Day at the Museum ”allows schoolchildren to make visiting museums more interesting and informative, and the educational process more fun. However, it is not always possible to teach a lesson in the museum itself. Especially now, when the epidemiological situation in the capital is not 100 percent favorable. Thanks to the capabilities of the MES platform, children and adults can take a fresh look at the topics from the school curriculum, completing tasks in a virtual exposition in the classroom or at home, “said the press service of the Mosgortur agency.
