Servicemen of the artillery units of the tank division of the Central Military District (CVD), stationed in the South Urals, have worked out the method of dagger fire, destroying the advancing simulated enemy during the exercise, which ended today at the training ground in the Chelyabinsk region.

According to the concept of the tactical episode, the crews of the towed Msta-B howitzers used dagger fire, destroying enemy targets with direct fire at a distance of up to two kilometers.

Having made a march to a given area and camouflaging positions, the artillerymen suddenly opened fire on the flank of the advancing enemy, selectively destroying armored vehicles and manpower, thereby preventing deployment into pre-battle and battle formations. Also, in the course of firing, the standards for the tray and loading of ammunition were worked out manually and using a standard manipulator crane. Having reduced the pace of the enemy’s offensive, the servicemen practiced curtailing, attaching the gun to the Medved artillery tractors and making a high-speed march to the area where their troops were concentrated.

In total, more than 500 military personnel were involved in the exercise, over 70 units of military and special equipment were involved.
