The servicemen of the anti-aircraft missile units of the coastal forces of the Caspian Flotilla, during a training session on fire control of air defense (air defense) means, destroyed unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of a simulated enemy.

According to the plan of the training, the anti-aircraft gunners discovered enemy strike and reconnaissance UAVs, planning to attack military targets and the basing point of ships from the air. At the signal, the air defense crews and anti-UAV units of the coastal flotilla troops were raised.

Against unmanned aviation, the military used the Igla portable anti-aircraft missile system (MANPADS), designed to destroy low-flying air targets, and the Verba MANPADS, which can hit aircraft, helicopters, cruise missiles and UAVs on head-on and catch-up courses in conditions of organized optical interference at any time of the day, and its missiles have homing capability.

During the training, MANPADS calculations conditionally destroyed air targets at distances from 2000 to 6000 m and at an altitude of up to 2500 m.

In addition, during the event, artificial radio interference was created, which made it difficult to perform training and combat missions and interfered with the guidance of the complexes to the target.

In total, about 150 servicemen of the air defense units of the Caspian Flotilla were involved in the training.
