On February 8-9, 2021, the 3rd meeting of the High-level Working Group on Caspian Sea (HLWG).

Delegations took part in the negotiations The Republic of Azerbaijan (head – Kh.A. Khalafov), Islamic Republic of Iran (head M. Bagheri Mokaddam), Republic of Kazakhstan (leader – Z.A. Amanzholova), the Russian Federation (leader – M.I. Petrakov) and Turkmenistan (head – M.G. Atajanov).

The meeting was opened by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation S.V. Lavrov… The meeting was chaired by the head of the Russian delegation, Mikhail Petrakov.

Discussion of the draft Agreement on the methodology for establishing straight baselines on Caspian Sea, a number of its provisions have been agreed.

The parties reviewed cooperation in the Caspian Sea, considered the implementation of the decisions of the Fifth Caspian Summit.

The delegations positively assessed the results of the talks and expressed gratitude to the Russian Federation for the high level of organization of the meeting.
