Servicemen of motorized rifle units and tank crews from the combined arms formations of the Eastern Military District have begun the second stage of the Suvorov Onslaught and Tank Biathlon contests. Competition events are held at the district training grounds in the Republic of Buryatia, Transbaikalia, Amur Region, Primorye, Khabarovsk Territory, Sakhalin.

During the competition, the crews fight for the victory in the “Individual Race”. Participants cover the distance with natural and artificial obstacles, make a march, and also demonstrate accuracy when performing control shooting exercises from small arms and RPG-7V.

Further, the BMP-2 crews will compete in the mastery of the entrusted standard equipment, identifying the strongest in the speed of passing the distance and the accuracy of hitting various targets.

Based on the results of the performances, an individual rating of the performances of each BMP-2 crew will be compiled, according to which a team will be formed, which will go to defend the honor of the association at the 3rd stage of the competition.

At the same time, the second qualifying stage of the Tank Biathlon competition is taking place at the VVO training grounds.

During the performance of competitive exercises, tank crews compete in fire damage to three targets with direct fire with a regular artillery projectile at ranges of up to 2000 meters, when firing from a closed firing position at a distance of over 5000 meters, as well as overcoming obstacles and passing a high-speed route.

The crews that have shown the best results will defend the honor of the combined arms associations at the district stages of the Suvorov Onslaught and Tank Biathlon competitions, which will be held in March this year at one of the training grounds in Transbaikalia.
