The solemn event was attended by the command of the association and aviation veterans: the chairman of the Sverdlovsk regional public organization of veterans of war, labor, military operations, civil service, pensioners, Major General Yuri Dmitrievich Sudakov and the head of the legendary Yekaterinburg Aviation Sports Club, where the future once learned to fly twice Hero Rechkalov, Major General Alexander Ivanovich Kovalev.

“We are doing this for memory, the younger generation must remember and know their heroes, especially their fellow countrymen,” said the commander of a separate transport mixed aviation regiment, Konstantin Malyshev.

Twice Hero of the Soviet Union, Major General Grigory Rechkalov (1920-1990) during the Great Patriotic War, flew 450 sorties, conducted 122 air battles, personally shot down 61 enemy aircraft and 4 more aircraft in group battles.
