Servicemen of the combined-arms army of the Western Military District, stationed in the Leningrad Region, have begun holding the second stage of the “Excellence in Military Intelligence” professional skill competition, which is part of the “Army-21” program.

As part of the competition, the participating teams landed behind enemy lines, made a 5-kilometer march with small arms and ammunition over rough terrain, complied with the standards for reconnaissance and determining the coordinates of enemy objects in the designated area, and temporarily overcame a special obstacle course.

In addition, during the competition, servicemen performed firing exercises with all types of standard small arms at emerging and moving targets, standards for tactical camouflage, radiation, chemical and biological protection, and military medical training.

About 100 servicemen of intelligence units and about 30 pieces of military equipment were involved in the second stage of the competition.

Based on the results of the competition, the best scouts of the formations will be selected, who will continue to participate in the district stage of the competition.
