Today, as part of planned combat training activities, a ship search and strike group of the Kola Flotilla of the Northern Fleet’s heterogeneous forces left the Barents Sea
The group includes small anti-submarine ships “Yunga”, “Snezhnogorsk” and “Brest”.
For several days, the crews of small anti-submarine ships will work out the coordination of actions as part of the ship’s search and strike group, as well as perform tasks to search, detect and track a simulated enemy submarine using the entire complex of the ship’s sonar weapons.
The exercise will be held in a two-way format. The ship’s search and strike group will be opposed by several submarine crews of the Northern Fleet.
At certain stages of the exercise, anti-submarine sailors will interact with the crews of anti-submarine aircraft and helicopters.
Small anti-submarine ships of the Albatross project are designed to protect the water area and combat submarines in the near sea zone. They are armed with artillery and anti-aircraft complexes AK-176M and AK-630M, RBU-6000 rocket launchers and torpedoes, as well as modern hydroacoustic systems.
