A recreation area will appear on the embankment, and the entrances to the Torpedo stadium and residential complexes will become more convenient.

A section of the Simonovskaya Embankment street and road network from Krutitskaya Embankment to Leninskaya Sloboda Street is being reconstructed. The project was approved at a meeting of the Moscow City Planning and Land Commission under the leadership of Sergei Sobyanin.

As explained Anastasia Pyatova, chairman Moskomstroyinvest and the executive secretary of the commission, the implementation of the project will create a high-quality road infrastructure for two residential complexes under construction and the stadium “Torpedo” named after E.A. Streltsov, which is now also in the process of reconstruction. The objects are located on the territory of the reorganized industrial zone “ZIL”.

It is planned to build a side driveway to service the Torpedo sports complex, Projected driveway No. 1266 and Projected driveway No. 1267, an intra-block driveway next to residential complexes and three off-street pedestrian crossings. The work will concern a site with a length of about 2,600 square meters. In addition, it is planned to strengthen the coast on the 1300 square meter embankment section.

The renovated embankment will have new sidewalks, recreation areas and bike paths, terraces, and summer cafes.

“The city, together with the developer, will have to implement one of the most ambitious projects for the reconstruction of the Moskva River embankments. The new section of the embankment can become an interesting point of attraction for the townspeople, because nearby are popular objects among Muscovites and guests of the capital – the Torpedo stadium and the Simonov Monastery, ”said Anastasia Pyatova.

Since 2011, about 71 kilometers of embankments along the Moskva River have been landscaped in the city. The renovated Moskvoretskaya, Luzhnetskaya and Presnenskaya embankments have become a popular place for walks, sports and recreation for many residents of the capital and tourists. For 2021-2023 renovation planned and reconstruction of another 121 kilometers of city embankments. 16 bridges will be put in order and about 40 new public recreation areas will be created by the water.
