Last week, the first Cup of the Commander of the Airborne Forces in mini-football took place in the “Start” sports complex of the Pskov Guards Airborne Assault Formation.

In total, 12 teams representing all formations of the Airborne Forces took part in the tournament, as well as 242 training centers (for training junior specialists of the Airborne Forces) and the Ryazan Guards Higher Airborne Command School named after General of the Army V.F. Margelov (RVVDKU) …

The tournament was held in two stages, during which 33 matches were played.

At the first stage, the teams were divided into 2 groups. Teams from Pskov, Ivanovo, Tula, Ulan-Ude, Ussuriysk and Omsk played in the first group, teams from Novorossiysk, Ulyanovsk, Kamyshin, Kubinka and Medvezhye Ozero near Moscow, as well as cadets of the RVVDKU played in the second group.

According to the results of the group tournaments, the teams of the Pskov and Ulan-Ude formations met in the semifinals, and the representatives of the Novorossiysk and Tula formations identified the strongest in the other pair.

Having beaten the team of Novorossiysk paratroopers in the final duel, the team of the Pskov Guards Airborne Assault Formation won the first Cup of the Commander of the Airborne Forces in mini-football. The second was the team from Novorossiysk. The third place was taken by the Tula paratroopers.

In addition, the winners were determined in individual nominations.

The winners were awarded the Airborne Forces Commander’s Cup and gold medals. Also, all the winners and prize-winners, in addition to medals, were awarded commemorative diplomas and prizes.
