The Northern Fleet continues to vaccinate personnel against a new coronavirus infection with the Russian-made Gam-COVID-Vac (Sputnik V) drug. The other day, the next batch of vaccine was received in the amount of more than 5 thousand doses.

Vaccinations are proceeding as planned. To date, about 10 thousand servicemen have received the vaccination. First of all, medical workers and participants in upcoming long-distance campaigns and combat services were vaccinated: crews of ships, submarines and support vessels. Both components of the vaccine were also received by representatives of the command of the fleet, headquarters and military command officers.

According to the vaccination plan, about 1000 military personnel from the ground and coastal forces, units of the Air Force and Air Defense Army, and also the submarine forces of the fleet receive vaccinations daily. Injections are made both in medical institutions and in medical units of military units. For these purposes, mobile vaccination teams have been formed from among the doctors and paramedics of the fleet medical service and the naval clinical hospital.

In addition to the servicemen of the Northern Fleet, representatives of military units of central subordination stationed in the Murmansk and Arkhangelsk regions are vaccinated on the basis of military medical institutions. For their vaccination, a third of the drugs received was allocated from the last batch.

For reference:

During vaccination, there were no cases of complications or intolerance to the vaccine.

Before the injection, military personnel are introduced to the rules of behavior during vaccination, which strictly prohibit the use of alcohol, intense sports and strenuous physical activity, as well as the effect of extremely high and low temperatures on the body within 5 days after vaccination.

The second component of the vaccine is administered exactly three weeks later. Each vaccinated soldier is obliged to arrive at the appointed time for re-vaccination.

The vaccine “Gam-COVID-Vak” is transported and stored frozen at a temperature not exceeding minus 18 degrees Celsius. It is thawed before administration to patients. Each ampoule contains enough substance to vaccinate five people. In the main base of the Northern Fleet, Severomorsk, the vaccine is stored at the blood transfusion station of the Naval Clinical Hospital in a special refrigerator.

The first batch of antiviral vaccine to the Northern Fleet on December 1.
