Combat crews of Buk, Osa, Tor anti-aircraft missile systems, air defense units of the Eastern Military District (VVO) conducted training to repel a simulated air attack, as well as to ensure safe aviation flights. The combat training event took place within the framework of a large-scale field exit of the military district’s air defense units at the Telemba training ground.

During the complex training, the issues of occupying and masking positions, organizing a communications and control system, bringing equipment from a traveling position to a combat position were worked out.

In addition, the personnel worked out a number of introductions for reconnaissance, detection, tracking and destruction of the targets of a simulated enemy. To complicate the task, the flight of both group and single targets flying at different altitudes and speeds was simulated.

Also, in the field, anti-aircraft gunners worked out the standards for the deployment of radar systems and making them ready for use.

In total, about a thousand military personnel were involved in the training, more than 200 pieces of weapons, military and special equipment were involved.
