A total of 146 tomographs were purchased in Moscow under life cycle contracts.

The capital has purchased 14 state-of-the-art computed tomography (CT) scanners with 256 slices as part of a program for the purchase of medical equipment under life cycle contracts. The contracts for their supply were concluded with the world’s leading equipment manufacturers. Thus, the total number of new tomographs, which have already been purchased under life cycle contracts, has reached 146 units. This was reported by Anastasia Rakova, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development.

“In Moscow today, everything possible is being done so that the residents of the capital have access to the best diagnostic and treatment technologies available in the world. Procurement of medical equipment under life cycle contracts allows us to obtain equipment directly from its manufacturers and ensure uninterrupted operation even at maximum load for a long time. This means that vital examinations for patients will be carried out as soon as possible and with maximum efficiency. We have already signed contracts within the framework of life cycle contracts for the supply of 14 computed tomographs for 256 slices in 2021–2023, while this year one of such devices will be launched in the city clinical oncological hospital No. 1. The capabilities of the new equipment will allow to raise the level of diagnostics of various diseases, including oncological ones, ”said the deputy mayor.

Computed tomography allows you to obtain a layer-by-layer image of an organ or tissue. The more sections a tomograph can make in one revolution of the X-ray tube, the more diagnostic information can be obtained in one examination. This shortens the examination time and thereby reduces the radiation exposure of patients.

Multi-slice CT scans allow high-quality and non-invasive examinations of the heart and blood vessels for early diagnosis of atherosclerosis, as well as reasonably refer patients to surgical treatment and adjust drug therapy. Fast and informative cancer screening makes it possible to diagnose cancer at an early stage and to prescribe specialized treatment in a timely manner.

In 2022, two new computer tomographs with 256 slices will be delivered to the city clinical hospitals named after D.D. Pletnev and No. 15 named after OM Filatov. And in 2023, 11 more new multi-slice CT scans will be delivered to the leading Moscow hospitals – Moscow City Oncological Hospital No. 62, Moscow Clinical Research Center named after A.S. Loginov, city clinical hospital No. 1 named after N.I. Pirogov, city clinical hospital No. 67 named after L.A. Vorokhobov, city clinical hospital named after A.K. Eramishantsev, the city clinical hospital named after V.V. Veresaev, the city clinical hospital named after V.M. Buyanov, city clinical hospital named after S.S. Yudin, city clinical hospital named after F.I. Inozemtsev and the city clinical hospital named after V.P. Demikhova.

Magnetic resonance tomographs, ultrasound machines, angiographs, mammographs and X-ray diagnostic devices, endoscopic equipment, as well as computer tomographs of various types are purchased under life cycle contracts, according to which the manufacturer is obliged not only to ensure the operability of the equipment from the moment of installation to the expiration of the warranty period. , but also to conduct the necessary training of personnel.
